Our “SNEHAM” that is our friendship day celebrations was on wheels on this 15th December 2017.We have sent an open invitation to all the members to join us and enjoy together at ‘CHOKH IDHANI’. We had great fun and very good time together. I am expecting all the members to join us in future events too. Few of our members have shared their experiences at CHOKH DHANI.
JYOTHI: Dear Friends, hope you are all doing well. This is a small thank you message, regarding our wonderful Chokhidhani trip. It was an excellent trip and well arranged by our President. I hope the trip was also enjoyed by others. It was a beautiful experience to take part in a trip with such wonderful people. This trip made me re-live my school days. I have had great pleasure in travelling with such friendly people and with an amazing charisma. Hope to see you soon.
LATHA BALAJI: This is a small write up on our this year’s “Sneham”2018 — “Friendship on Wheels” to “ChokhiDhani” a replica of “Rajasthan Village”. All of us enjoyed all the rides, Rajasthan folk dances, Magic show, pottery making, Last but not least typical Rajasthani food. We enjoyed the whole trip. All of us are thankful to our president Mallika Devi for planning such a wonderful trip.
MALLIKA SHIVA PRAKASH: It is very Nostalgic to recollect the experience of visiting Chokhi Dhani on the occasion of Sneham Celebrations on 15.12.17. The First thought the flashes our minds is the Calm and a Serene Traditional setup of the place which is in contrast to the ever buzzing and mechanical lifestyle in the Urban jungles that we live in. Secondly, the rich cultural heritage that it holds is a visual treat and it also brings us into the foray to experience the lost treasures of yesteryear’s tradition and practices.
One could easily lose track of time by indulging in activities like Pottery making, Boating, Bird fortune telling, various dance shows, CamellHorse and Bullocart rides, Maze runner, Dart games, Puppet and Magic shows. The Food served here is a Culinary treat consisting of an Exorbitant range of Rajasthani delicacies in Sumptuous Thalis. I was lucky to have the company of the Lovely ladies as we had a lot of light hearted moments and shared a great bonding. I thank our President Mallika Devi for giving us a memorable day to behold in our hearts.
SATYAVARDHINI: This year’s “SNEHAM” was celebrated at CHOKHI DHANI a Rajasthani resort which is about 25 K.M from Chennai. This place resembled a Rajasthani village. All of us were enthralled by a bullock cart ride, a boat shikari . The art of pot making, rajasth folk dances and magic performance were entertaining. Our Gandhiji was back in our thoughts having seen thread spinning on “Ratna”. So me and all those enjoyed our Young Girl’s days are looking forward for the next “SNEHAM” get together with lot more of our carders. Hope that these few lines inspires all members of this alumni, (old and new)
LEELA RANI: Chokidhani about that Yeh meri Kahani! Imagine a child playing in us? Imagine a day of getting lost in the world while being in this world? Yes, I lived a day like school-kid when the alumni had planned for a day of ‘Friendship on Wheels’. It was the occasion when a forty-six in me played a six of me- careless, carefree, enthusiastic, thrilled at the least things around, flapping the eyebrows for every curious things around, smiling and rejoicing within for no reason, showing-off the one’s own attire, more jumping than walking… You name it and I’d gone through it! It all happened from the moment of hearing of a planned trip to Chokidhani and lasted days after returning from there. The preparation started way behind prior to the day of tour. The nitty-gritties were gossiped, argued and consented upon- things like what to wear, where to be picked, and so on.
As the D day struck the calendar, we the friends (women) gathered at a rendezvous and the President of the Alumni Association wasted no time to arrive, pick and seat us all comfortably in the cosy bus. My mind played the errands of running back to the scenic memories of boarding a school with the help of a lady-ward!
On reaching CHOKIDHAN I, enjoyment and fun opened their doors. Between the ENTRY and EXIT, there tumbled actions and adventures. Riding on camels, horses, bullock- carts, camel-carts blew not only the moments but our minds too with goosebumps! Ever felt like a queen riding on a chariot, we did! Born and bread in a busy city every enchanting experience witnessed it’s first birth on that day.
It’s said that the best things in life always come at the end. Similarly a sumptuous, a delicious a mouth watering and a finger-licking dinner along with the good company of friends do deserve a comment.
Thanks to all the Alumni, especially President Mrs. Mallikaa Keshab Chander for coming up with this idea and gifting us all childhood-cum-childlike experiences at this age, my heartfelt thanks for the Association and it’s Captain.
