Every year the alumni celebrates its Friendship Day by hosting a grand event called SNEHAM where the alumni’s friends and families also actively participate.During Mrs. Mallikaa Keshab Chander’s presidency, the event was celebrated differently. During the first year it was celebrated with the school, next year it was celebrated as “Sneham On Wheels” in Chokidhani — a typical Rajasthani village styled restaurant. Finally, this year it was celebrated in the hotel “Quality inn Sabari” which was later followed by Alumni’s annual general body meeting where the new team of office bearers for the upcoming tenure were elected. The president and committee entertained the gathering by conducting games for the youngsters, ladies and couples. Most of the prizes given were silver articles. This year the alumni had also provided the buffet at a cheaper cost than the actual price. Many games including housie were conducted along with couple’s games to entertain the couple’s and members husbands who were in attendance. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the event and made a day of it. The winners were also presented attractive gifts to help keep this beautiful memory alive. Women entrepreneurs were encouraged to sell their merchandise by giving them stall spaces and they returned back with a handsome profits. The event was a grand success with the tickets being oversold.
This year’s Chief Guest was the charming, humble, dynamic personality Mrs. Usha Suresh Balaji — a mohiniaattam dancer who was also kind enough of to donate Rs. 10,000 in appreciation of the alumni’s work and to encourage the continuation of its activities in the future. The event kicked off with a prayer by alumni members followed by the welcome address by President Mrs. Mallikaa Keshab Chander and Secretary Mrs. Latha Balaji who announced the itinerary for the day.
Mrs. Sujatha Ramesh Babu IPP and Dr. Mohanasri gave their felicitations to outgoing president Mrs. Mallikaa Keshab Chander. Later the Chief Guest addressed the gathering about friendship and also shared and reminisced her personal moments. She also appreciated the phenomenal work done by the alumni for the school children and also wished the alumni the best to continue the work for many more years to come. She also performed some mudras in Mohiniattam to convey the message of happy friendship. The dance moves signified grace and encouraged others to learn the same. Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Bhanu (Treasurer).
Teachers of KTCT Girls Higher Secondary School honored the President Mrs. Mallikaa Keshab Chander with a gift and a beautiful saree in appreciation of her services to the school and its students.
Mrs. Vummidi Lalitha Sudhakar sponsored a silver bowl for the American Auction, which was auctioned for Rs. 16,000. The collected amount will be spent towards the expenses accruing to after school snacks. Mrs. Vummidi Jayanthi, Mrs. Nagalakshmi, Keshab Kota, Mrs. Padmalatha, Mrs. Surekha, Mrs. Mal li ka Prakash and the alumni sponsored attractive silver gift articles for the event.
The event ended on a positive note with the National Anthem and a sumptuous lunch. SNEHAM was re-inforced and friends had a wonderful and memorable time.
